This is a lovely gem of a movie - beautifully shot and beautifully cast, which centers on the friendship between an Orthodox Jewish woman and a Muslim woman who meet as first-year teachers at a public school in Brooklyn. Over the course of the year they learn they share much in common - not least of which is that they are both going through the process of arranged marriages.
It is a special little independent film with some really wonderful messages tucked into a tale of friendship, loyalty, duty, and tradition.
This film lays out the magic and messiness of friendship between women, and allows us to become a privileged insider.
The film's writer, Uta Silverman, will speak about the making of this film after the screening.
