Sunday, May 31
To be part of the marching group, meet up with the East Midwood Hebrew Day School (EMHDS) at East 53rd Street between Madison & Fifth Avenues.
Step-off time is 1:00 pm. Arrive ahead of time. There’s going to be an EMHDS float as well. Some spaces may be available on the float (seniors preferred).
EMHDS marchers are wearing red & black tee shirts. EMJC members can opt to blend in with similar colors, but it’s not necessary. Blue & white is a good combination too, especially because the EMHDS slogan is 100 years of speaking Hebrew in Tel Aviv (in recognition of the 100th anniversary of Tel Aviv).
For people who prefer to watch from the sidelines, the “cheering section” will meet at Fifth Avenue at 65th Street, across from Temple Emanuel. That’s the west side (park side) of 5th Avenue.
Provide your own transportation. If you are going by public transportation, check the MTA for service advisories that day.
There is a Q train service advisory for Sunday:
Manhattan bound trains run express from Kings Hwy to Prospect Park, skipping Newkirk Ave. For service from Ave. M, Ave. J, Ave. H, Newkirk Ave., Cortelyou, Beverley Road, and Parkside Ave., take a Coney Island-bound Q train to Church, or Kings Hwy and transfer to a Manhattan bound Q train.
The parade route begins at 57th Street and Fifth Avenue and continues north on Fifth Avenue to 79th Street.
The parade will take place from 11 AM to 5 PM, rain or shine.
We hope to see you there!
