Join us this Saturday night as we observe Tisha b’Av, our national day of mourning. Because the 9th of Av falls on Shabbat this year, observance is postponed until August 10th.
We will convene in the Beit haMidrash at 8:00 pm for Shabbat Mincha, followed by the bulk of the Ma’ariv service. When it comes time for the reading of the Book of Lamentations and the recitation of kinot (dirges) (appx. 8:40 pm), we will relocate to the Ohel Katan (Little Tent) room in the basement, where Rabbi Regina Sandler Phillips will conduct a short teaching/discussion on themes related to the day. Following those observances, we will sing do some singing and conclude the Ma’ariv service.
On the morning of Sunday, August 11th, services begin at 8:00 am. Mincha will be at 1:30 pm.
