Piyutim: Sacred Poetry in Song

A concert by Shir Chadash, Brooklyn’s Jewish community chorus

Shir Chadash is a four-part chorus of more than 40 members from 20 different synagogues. Now in its fourteenth season, Shir Chadash performs a repertoire inspired by the richness and diversity of Jewish music from around the globe, ranging from moving liturgical pieces to contemporary compositions and updated arrangements of world folk music in many languages. This concert, which will take place in EMJC’s beautiful sanctuary, will feature four cantors — including EMJC’s own Sam Levine — and HaZamir: The International Jewish High School Choir.
