In anticipation of East Midwood’s Centennial anniversary in 2024, a group of interested members has formed a Cookbook Committee that has begun the process of planning an EMJC community cookbook. New members are always welcome.

Our vision is to compile and publish a collection of the recipes, stories, and memories of the culinary traditions of our beloved congregation, past and present. In doing so, we will create a family heirloom that documents where we come from and who we have become.

Thank you to everyone that has already sent us their recipes, but for this cookbook to be a success, we need everyone to participate! Please share with us not only your favorite kosher recipes, but the stories of those recipes. What makes these dishes special? What is your family’s history? Are these your recipes? Are they your grandmother’s?

We need your recipes! We cannot do this alone! We will be collecting recipes through February 14, 2023.
